It was colder today then the day of the raid. Probably by roughly 8 degrees, was Devin's guess, as she sat on the cold rock managing to stab its way through the ice, freezing the stone bowels. She wasn't singing today, because she was a bit tired of singing at the moment. Really, all she wanted to do was relax in a hot tub right about now . . . but that wasn't an option. So, after studying several types of pokemon, she was looking to catch a new one today. And it was called a Snorunt - and ice-type pokemon that could evolve two seperate ways. The annoying part was finding a female - they seemed to be a bit rarer than the already rare Snorunt. Which was typical - anything that could be good to evolve always had to be rarer, just like female Riolu or female Combee. Actually, it seemed that female pokemon were simply more scarce then males. This world must have had a bit of a sexist creator or something - then again, from a different angle, a lot of female pokemon could become more powerful then the males ever could, so it just mattered how you took it. Illyana and Edward sat down on the rock too, must more annoyed by the freezing cold then Devin was - they were creatures for the bright sunshine, not the glistening cold and overcast days. Finally, Edward stopped showing Illyana his blades, teleported onto Devin's head, and tapped her with the side of his blade hands. Devin's stitches were still in, annoyingly. Apparently modern technology for sealing wounds was not available to those of us who aren't wealthy and living in mansions with gardens in the back yards. Devin looked up, and then Edward teleported to her shoulder, whispering in her ear. Then he pointed out something, and Devin smiled brightly, taking out her pokedex. The black pokedex confirmed it: a female Snorunt. Devin wrapped her hands around Edward, to make sure he wouldn't interfere, and then Devin said - "Illyana, go." Illyana smiled at Devin, then she watched the Snorunt as he slowly walked across the surface of the ice, unperturbed by the blistering cold. Illyana took a second, put her hands together, watching the Snorunt. The Snorunt saw her out of the corner of her eye, watching Illyana curiously. A second later, and the air rippled quickly, sending a Psybeam towards the female Snorunt. Its eyes widened, but, as the beam neared, it hit an invisible barrier, and stopped there, instead hitting the snow, causing the snow to fly away from the air. Devin's pokedex identified the move as Protect. "Magical leaf!" Devin commanded, and Illyana replied, leaves covering her body like a graceful dress. Edward squirmed in Devin's hands, sometimes swiping at her fingers, but Devin held him tightly, keeping his bladed hands against his sides. The Snorunt was quick though - somehow - and it crossed the distance between itself and Illyana, and then promptly Crunched her. Illyana gasped in pain at the Super Effective attack, but then she flinched. The Snorunt took this as a good sign, and attacked again, this time causing shards of ice to fly from the wind and smash against Illyana. She got hit, but then promptly teleported behind the Snorunt, using Psybeam again. It hit the Snorunt square in the back, who fell forward. It was up in a second, charging Illyana, and then it Ice Fang'd her, before she could react again. Apparently it was a fast, powerful pokemon, because the ice crept across Illyana's skin, freezing her solid. The Snorunt smiled, and was going to take his chance to finish here - Edward squirmed more, and Devin was going to let him free - but then something happened. The ice turned all white. A second later and it all melted, forming around in a humanoid shape, around Illyana's glowing white body. The Snorunt stopped and stared, until the liquid, shining form grew taller, the skirt growing longer, and the entire shape becoming impossibly more graceful. A moment later, and Devin's pokedex identified the change. Gardevoir. The new Illyana raised her hand towards the Snorunt, and the air rippled again. The Snorunt tried to use Protect again, but suddenly its body stiffened. It froze where it was, as if frozen into a block of ice. Illyana had an open palm, but suddenly she closed it, and a terrible snapping sound echo'd in the icy open. The Snorunt fell unconscious at her feet.
Illyana can use one badarse Psychic, that's for sure.
Devin through a pokeball from the rock, which practically tracked the unconscious body of the Snorunt, getting it in in a second. The Snorunt struggled momentarily, but a moment later, and it was caught.
Devin grinned - all she had to do now was find a Dawn Stone.
